Mysterious Objects within the Urban Environment
How many people notice these objects that sit as decorative elements in our built environment?
They are often placed in a leisure or parkland environment. They often have a sculptural element, but they are not sculptures.
They have significance, or did at one time. Usually they are transplanted from an environment where their significance was obvious.
The purpose of this object would be obvious within a workplace, a manufacturing setting perhaps. In a park, and unlabelled, and with no obvious history attached, it becomes incongruous.
